November 2006
Exhibition at the
Antrobus Arms Hotel.
The exhibition was a resounding success with
several pieces being sold over the 2 weekends that it was
running. The weather was not kind to us as we had wind and rain to
contend with, all the more problematical as the exhibition was
being held in a marquee in the garden! However, all was
overcome in typical English fashion.

Art Care Exhibition
at Odstock Hospital
AVA members exhibited nearly 100 pieces at the
Art Care Exhibition with some pieces being sold. It was
lovely to walk around the hospital seeing all the art work from
our members.
July 2007
Race For Life
Amy Hodson and Claire Farnworth ran for Cancer
Research. Irene Colquhourn designed and painted her
interpretation of what the race meant for her. The picture
was then put onto a T-shirt which were worn on the day. A
total of £705 was raised!
Watercolour Workshop
This was an interesting class where a number of
members learnt to paint for the first time. Other members
learnt new methods and a few are now exhibiting their work.

Meet the
Artists in the Garden
This was a fantastic day with an outstanding
setting. The event was held in the grounds of the Antrobus Arms Hotel
which made it feel like a typically English occasion. 12
artists, working in many different mediums, welcomed people to
ask questions about their art. Other members encouraged
people to see other artifacts in the gallery and even to 'have a
go' at painting or drawing. There was also Perspex
Perspective to get the artistic juices flowing. We believe
this may be the first time this has been used in this way.
Look out for another Garden Event next year.
Meanwhile have a look at some of the photographs.
October 2007
Salisbury City Art Trail
The AVA had a space in Salisbury Library for this event. 15 members exhibited with pieces ranging from traditional paintings to trip tychs to pencil drawings to pewter goblets to books to beaded and glass jewellery and tiaras. The mix was diverse and generated much interest and comments. Some members sold pieces and some acquired commissions.
January 2008
Stonehenge Carnival Project
We want to make an impact in Amesbury and get involved with the town more. To this end we will be producing a sectional picture of Stonehenge. We don't believe this has been done locally before and we are excited by the prospect of doing this project, which ties in with the Amesbury Carnival.
January saw the first part with a competition to
choose a painting of Stonehenge for the project. A number
of members entered various impressions of Stonehenge and members
voted on them. Kathy Gevaux painted the winning picture
and was presented with a trophy.
